FUNCTIONAL MRI STUDY CONFIRMED RELIABILITY OF ARTERIAL SPIN LABELING

In a clinical study for method validation, performed in close collaboration with the Institute for Radiology of the Hannover Medical School, scientists were able to demonstrate that functional MRI with arterial spin labeling is a reliable method for quantification of kidney perfusion. The pilot study has shown this method to allow statistically significant detection of pharmacologically induced changes in renal perfusion, even with small sample sizes. The results of this study may help establish MRI methods in early-phase pharmacological trials. The study was published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology 2017 Nov 10 under doi: 10.1002/jcph.1034
